“Singles' Day” falls on every November 11h , and as the name indicates, this holiday is one exclusively for people who are still living the single life. It got its name for this reason and because the date is comprised of four “ones." China is the only country in the world that has set aside a special day for singles to celebrate their lives.

People also hold “blind date” parties in an attempt to bid goodbye to their single lives.

Many people do not think bachelordom is the substitute name for loneliness, solitude and boredom. On the contrary, singleness sometimes means more independence, more freedom and unrestrained planning of life. As the joke goes “single is simple; double is trouble”. Being single means you are master of yourself. You can hang out with friends all the time, not worrying that they are going to be picky and demanding as your other half. Social environment has become more tolerant and being single is facing less pressure of public opinion.
