刘云昌，中华人民共和国艺术大家，国礼艺术家，国宝级央新名人档案特聘高级顾问，国家高级美术师、国家高级书法师，全国第一批非物质文化遗产创新人才中国国际书画院特聘院士，中国教育电视台签约艺术家，并任《水墨丹青》书画院副院长，中国书画艺术专业委员会委员，国画《汉字元素马》技法创始人。 历经5年多时间完成一幅一百米《万马奔腾图》长卷。据息国家博物馆准备收藏。
他自幼喜欢书画艺术，少年时代欣逢贤师点化，临帖摹字，研习不断。青年从军，专志修文，砺心涵艺转业地方后，从事电视台记者工作，致力银屏之余，更是以笔墨抒情，陶醉于画马技艺之研修。 历时三十二载，成功探索创出国画《汉字元素马》写意新技法，成为中国书画史上一朵瑰丽奇葩，受到书画艺术界诸大家的认可和社会各界广泛赞誉。新世纪以来，他的书画作品多次参加国家及省部大展并获奖、收藏、出版发行。
