刘西林，甲午八月，生于山东曹县。幼嗜绘事，常沉浸于线色之境，心图炽烈，探艺不辍。绘画遂为其生之要，表情达意，追梦佳途。
Liu Xilin was born in August of the Jiawu year in Caoxian County, Shandong.From a young age, he exhibited a passion for painting, often immersing himself in the world of lines and colors. His intense dedication to his art propelled him to continuously explore the realm of artistry. Painting thus became an essential part of his life, a means to express his emotions and pursue his dreams.
中国花鸟画，无论工写，皆寄情寓兴。刘西林以银杏、禽鸟为题，不拘形似，重神韵内质，主客交融，取舍运思，夸张强调。水墨撞色，老树枝干之貌，虽不精细，亦见墨色漫漶晕淡，无涯变化，纵裂粗糙，肌理质感凸显。枝叶罅隙间，簇簇果实黄绿相衬，画面色调协和，生动神气流露，寄“麦黄杏熟”之秋收之意。画面左上角，墨色深浅，斜向轻扫，两片落叶翩跹，秋风劲爽意象显现。工质写物，画家主观情志，创作运构，尽在其中。
