1、象山县主产区以丘陵滩涂地为主,土壤以壤土、砂质壤为主。土层深厚,肥沃,土质疏松,有机质含量1.5%以上,地下水位1米以下,适合柑桔的生长。
2、象山县属浙江中部沿海,系亚热带海洋季风气候,温暖湿润,热量适中,雨量充沛,四季分明。年平均气温16度,年平均降雨量1500毫米,年日照时为1950小时,全年无霜期295天,主导风向为东南风。
3、象山的柑橘种植历史悠久,早在宋代时期,象山的柑桔就已作为贡品上贡。
