Strength of the heart and strength of the body: Chinese medicine wisdom for avoiding overstretching of the body
Throughout the long history, mankind has always been exploring how to better realize its potential and create a more glorious civilization. In his famous book, "The Power of the Heart," Chairman Mao described in great relief the infinite power of the heart, which can fight and change places. In modern society, however, we often hear people complain that there is not enough time and that things cannot be done. However, what is often hidden behind this is not a lack of time, but an overstretch of heart and energy. As the old saying goes, "Time is like water in a sponge, and there will always be it if you push it." But heart and energy are precious resources that can be obtained without squeezing.
The importance of mental strength, the fundamentality of energy.
Mind power is the inner force that drives us forward and pursue our dreams. It is a beacon that guides us through the sea of life. Energy, which is the concrete expression of mental strength in real life, is the material basis for our response to challenges and accomplishing tasks. With a strong heart, you have a strong energy. Weak heart strength leads to weak energy.
However, the fast pace and high pressure of modern society make people often have to work overload, overstretching their physical and mental strength. This overdraft, which appears to improve efficiency in a short period of time, is in fact creating a risk for future health. As the saying goes, "People come out and owe what they owe," sooner or later the overstretched body will, in one or more ways, claim that debt from us.
Traditional Chinese Medicine: Mind and body are equally important
Traditional Chinese medicine has emphasized the importance of mind and body since ancient times, believing that human health depends not only on physical strength, but also on psychological peace. In the view of traditional Chinese medicine, overstretching of heart and energy is actually a sign of imbalance between body and mind. Therefore, to avoid overstretching the body, we need to start from both physical and mental aspects.
1. Calm your mind and cultivate your strength
Chinese medicine says, "The heart is the god." When the mind is unsettled, the heart is weak. Therefore, conditioning the mind and cultivating the strength of the heart is the first task to avoid overstretching the body. This requires us to learn to let go of our thoughts and maintain inner peace and serenity. It is possible to train your own concentration and focus through meditation and yoga, so that the mind can be restrained and nourished.
2. Work and play together to conserve energy
Energy is like a spring water that needs to be replenished continuously. Work-life combination is the perfect way to conserve energy. Traditional Chinese medicine emphasizes "physical effort and tirelessness," i.e. the body needs moderate exercise to maintain vitality, but it is not advisable to overwork. Therefore, we should arrange work and rest time in a reasonable manner according to our own physical condition and working environment, so as to combine work and leisure time and be relaxed.
3. Eat right and nourish your body and mind
Diet is an important way to nourish the body and mind. Chinese medicine is concerned with "the common origin of medicine and food," and believes that many foods have the ability to regulate the body and nourish the heart and spirit. Therefore, we should make a reasonable diet according to our own body and needs, eat more nutritious and easy-to-digest foods, and eat less irritating foods such as greasy, spicy and spicy. At the same time, it is also possible to regulate the body and strengthen the immune system through diet therapy.
4. Follow nature and reconcile yin and yang
Traditional Chinese medicine also emphasizes following natural laws and reconciling yin and yang balance. The human body and mind are closely related to the natural environment, and only by following natural changes can we maintain harmony and health of the body and mind. For example, when the seasons change, be careful to increase and reduce clothing to prevent catching a cold. During the hot summer months, it is necessary to avoid the heat and cool down properly to prevent heatstroke, etc.
Case in point: The cost of overstretching the body
Mr. Zhang is a young programmer. Due to the pressure of his job, he often works late into the night or even all night. Although many projects were completed in a short time, his body gradually collapsed. He began to feel dizzy and unhinged and even developed severe symptoms of insomnia and anxiety. After a doctor's examination, he found that he had severely overstretched his body and heart.
Mr. Zhang's story epitomizes many people in modern society. They are willing to overstretch their physical and mental strength in order to pursue the success of their career and the beauty of their life. However, the cost of this overdraft is significant, not only damaging to health, but also affecting the quality of work and life.
Conclusion: Love your life and stay away from overstretching
Life is only once, and health is the cornerstone of life. In this fast-paced, high-pressure society, it is more important that we learn to cherish life and stay away from overstretching. By tuning the mind, combining work and leisure, eating properly and following nature, we can cultivate the heart and conserve energy so that the body and mind maintain harmony and health. Only in this way can we go farther, more steady, and more wonderful on the road to life.
Let us remember the wisdom and teaching of traditional Chinese medicine and feel the beauty and true meaning of life with our heart. Let our mind and energy be the driving force and support for us to move forward, not the chain and burden that keep us from moving forward.
