■place 表示“地方”时，后接不及物动词的不定式作定语时，可以不用介词。如：

He has no place to live (in). 他没有地方住。

There is no place to go (to). 没有地方去。

■由于以上原因，后接定语从句时，有时也可将关系副词 where改为 that 或省略，或将其后有关介词省略。如：

This is the place (where) we met yesterday. 这就是我们昨天碰头的地方。

She talked to us about all the places she had been (to). 她给我们谈起了她所去过的所有地方。

■但若不是 place 而是其它名词，则不能省略其后必用的介词。

误：He has no room to live. (应在 live 后加 in)

误：There is no room to sleep. (应在 sleep 后加 in)

误：This is the room I lived 10 years ago. (应在 lived 后加 in或在room 后加 where )
