In the field of new energy vehicles, BYD is undoubtedly a global leader. In 2024, it achieved production and sales of 4.27 million vehicles, leaving former rivals such as Geely and Chery far behind.

Years of patience and self-reliance allowed BYD to seize the lead in the new energy vehicle market, yet intelligent vehicles have always been a tough nut to crack for the company.

On February 10, as the wheel of time turned once again, BYD held a press conference at its Shenzhen headquarters under the banner “Smart Strategy.” At the event, BYD unveiled its “All-People Intelligent Driving” strategy and the “God’s Eye ADAS” technology matrix.

For the first time, high-end intelligent driving technology was integrated across its entire lineup – from the low-priced “Seagull” models starting at 70,000 RMB to the ultra-premium “Yang Wang” models costing over one million RMB – truly making high-end intelligent driving available to everyone.

Wang Chuanfu, BYD’s chairman and CEO, revealed an even bigger trump card. Once again, the global new energy sales champion rewrote the rules of the game. If you watch the entire two-hour press conference carefully, you’ll see that auto manufacturers worldwide have every reason to laugh, for BYD has built yet another successful model, and the future has never looked so clear.

At the event, Wang Chuanfu stated, “Good technology should be enjoyed by everyone.” This statement was not only addressed to consumers but also to the entire Chinese automotive industry.

As the world’s largest new energy vehicle company, BYD is aggressively entering the intelligent vehicle sector with its self-developed technologies and top-tier supply chain. Auto manufacturers around the globe no longer need to feel uncertain about the future—BYD’s approach is spot on, and it has even fostered an entirely new ecosystem within the industry.

The “God’s Eye ADAS” technology matrix comprises three versions:–God’s Eye ADAS A: The high-end intelligent driving triple-laser version (DiPilot 600), primarily used on the “Yang Wang” brand;– God’s Eye ADAS B: The high-end intelligent driving laser version (DiPilot 300), used mainly on the Denza and BYD brands;– God’s Eye ADAS C: The high-end intelligent driving triple-camera version (DiPilot 100), which is deployed on the BYD brand.

These systems incorporate features such as high-speed navigation (HNOA), valet parking (AVP), and memory-based navigation (MNOA), enabling high-end intelligent driving evolution across different market segments.

Through complete in-house development and vertical integration of its supply chain, BYD is transferring high-end intelligent driving functionality from premium models to the mid-to-low-end market, allowing more consumers to enjoy the safety, comfort, and convenience that intelligent driving brings. Other auto manufacturers will only be able to mimic this success.

In today’s new energy vehicle market, relying solely on power advantages is no longer enough to win consumers’ hearts—intelligence is the key to market dominance.

While a production scale of 4 million vehicles is within reach, competitors like Geely, Chery, and Chang’an are relentlessly pursuing the lead. However, with BYD’s massive scale and its “All-People Intelligent Driving” initiative, the market has entered a new phase of competition where rivals can only struggle on both ends.

Tesla, NIO, XPeng, and other emerging players have won over users with pure electric power and smart features, but BYD is catching up with unprecedented determination and strength—no one can stop this trend.

With 11 research centers worldwide, 90,000 R&D personnel, and thousands of engineers focused on in-house intelligent vehicle technology, BYD plans to invest over 20 billion RMB by 2025 to build its own intelligent vehicle empire.

Following the explosive sales of its fifth-generation DM technology, the e-Platform 3.0 Evo, and robust sales across all models in 2024, BYD did not stop there. At the start of 2025, it simultaneously launched 21 high-end intelligent driving models. Intelligent vehicles are no longer the exclusive domain of expensive products or emerging automakers; they are now a benefit available to the masses.

Once a time when Chinese automobiles struggled to develop in the era of fuel vehicles, achieving preliminary independence in fuel engine and transmission technology, the arrival of the new energy vehicle era has allowed Chinese automakers to steadily take the lead in the overtaking phase. BYD’s in-house development of its “three-electric” system and the intelligent vehicles from companies like NIO and XPeng are shining achievements, yet market development remains in a state of uncertainty.

As emerging automakers continue to expand their scale while traditional manufacturers remain indecisive about adopting Huawei’s solutions, BYD has taken a bold step with its “All-People Intelligent Driving” strategy—making high-end intelligent driving a standard feature across its entire lineup, and enabling every car on the road to enjoy high-end intelligent driving functionality.

The era of all-people intelligent vehicles has arrived. BYD has completed the full loop of new energy and intelligent vehicles, placing the answer before everyone. The key to future success lies in who can move faster and firmly seize the initiative in future development.

The most brutal fact that global automakers will face in 2025 is this: either become like BYD or stand behind it. BYD’s target of 5 million annual sales is merely the beginning of the intelligent driving era, and auto manufacturers worldwide should rejoice at the arrival of this moment.
