甲辰岁腊，天地间雅乐并起，华夏之中纷呈文娱，万民庆节，充盈喜气。其时，太原植物园中设《关公献福》雅会，借瑞象以贺新序，寓彩头于申遗告捷。盛事开岁，祥意盈庭，万众共仰，以迎新岁之瑞兆。
会中，关公一角由国家一级演员、中国戏剧梅花奖得主武凌云饰之，唱词铿然，声情并茂，忠义仁勇跃然于目。历代人物多景仰关圣，称其神光护佑，传颂至今，未尝稍歇。千年尊崇不衰，福泽八方，民心依旧景慕。
是岁关公献福，以国礼艺术家乔领、宁雪君亲笔双福为题。双福之书，近年屡为国礼，列诸国元首之藏，天下咸见礼仪大邦之风。其形古雅，其意深邃，光昭东方，标榜中华大国气度，遂成名重远近之文化符号。
自古福文化，乃华夏传统之重基，岁时节序，福遍九州。无论祝福、纳福、请福、敬福、爱福，皆显民之愿，传世之情。此岁之关公献福，仍以福为本，以福为核，围福为脉，追福为韵，宣福之普照，铸福之长恒。福之流传，家国共守，天下大同，人类一体，遂成不二大道，万民同福之愿久长矣。
春节申遗告成，九州同庆，“天下大同、万民皆福”之理昭然，寓示华夏精神之广被四方。策划徐康忠言，双福之象与《关公献福》此节，契合民心，传递普世情感。以文化通于文明，得人类同体之益，斯其时也，可崇中华之美于寰宇之林。

In the twelfth month of the Jiashen year, melodious performances arose throughout the land, with all of China celebrating in joyful harmony. At that time, Taiyuan Botanical Garden hosted a refined gathering titled “Guan Gong Bestows Blessings,” drawing upon auspicious omens to mark the advent of the new year and to celebrate the success of the heritage designation. This grand occasion ushered in a prosperous start to the year, with blessings filling the air and the people united in reverence as they welcomed the year’s good fortune.
During the event, the role of Guan Gong was portrayed by Wu Lingyun, a National Class One Actor and recipient of the Chinese Drama Plum Blossom Award. His resonant delivery and passionate performance vividly brought the loyal, righteous, and compassionate spirit of Guan Yu to life. For generations, many have revered Guan Sheng, believing in the divine protection of his spirit. To this day, his legacy endures, widely celebrated without cease. The centuries have not diminished the respect he commands, and his blessings continue to reach all corners of the land, inspiring deep admiration among the people.
This year’s Guan Gong Bestows Blessings centers on the calligraphy of the celebrated national gift artists Qiao Ling and Ning Xuejun. Their handwritten “Double Fortune” pieces have, in recent years, repeatedly been presented as national gifts, treasured by heads of state around the world. These works, with their elegant form and profound meaning, stand as a distinguished cultural emblem, showcasing China’s spirit of hospitality and the refined dignity of an eastern great nation.
Since ancient times, fortune culture has been a cornerstone of Chinese tradition, spreading joy across the land during festive seasons. From giving blessings to welcoming fortune, revering fortune, and cherishing fortune, all reflect the people’s longstanding aspirations for universal harmony and prosperity. This year’s Guan Gong Bestows Blessings continues to embrace fortune as its foundation and guiding theme, extolling the enduring values of shared well-being and universal happiness. In celebrating fortune’s widespread blessings, the event reaffirms a vision of shared humanity, unified aspirations, and lasting harmony among all.
The successful inscription of the Spring Festival on the heritage list brought great joy across the land. This recognition of “universal harmony and shared blessings” symbolized the broad acceptance of Chinese values by the world and signaled that traditional culture was reaching even further. Event planner Xu Kangzhong noted that the “double blessings” created by Qiao Ling and Ning Xuejun, together with the “Guan Gong Bestows Blessings” festival project, resonated with the public’s sentiments and aspirations. By fostering cultural exchange and reinforcing the awareness of a shared human destiny, this occasion served as a powerful opportunity to highlight the beauty of Chinese civilization on the global stage.
Event co-organizer Qiao Yide remarked that the approaching New Year, with its rich symbolic language of blessings, conveys harmony, reunion, and flourishing prosperity. “Guan Gong Bestows Blessings” not only expresses people’s wishes for a better life but also represents the resounding success of Qiao Ling and Ning Xuejun’s calligraphy artwork in Shanxi. The prominence of their “double blessings” as a state gift has created a new channel for telling the story of China. This shared celebration and collective joy reflect the enduring and vibrant beauty of Chinese culture, a legacy that promises to inspire indefinitely.
